    - Problem in Zero Deployement Hello Folks, I am trying to develop a Proof Of Concept for a Zero Deployment Created a simple winform. Created a simple WebService. Call a method from WebService on a button click and display results in the TextBoxx So far so good, Everything works as expected but when I try to deploy it over the web I am gettingh the following error. An Exception 'System.IO.FileLoadException' has occured in IEExec.exe This error happens first time when I click on the Exe(http://servername/appdir/appname.exe) It asks me if I would like to debug I decline and next time I try to load the application works fine. This happens also when I try the same on my local machine(I got everything on the same box). And goes away when I try for the second time. It happens after everytimg I compile the application. I have a work around as I explained but I would like find out from the Great Minds what is causing this error.     - Listview Item.Selected not populating Listview.SelectedItems collection Hi, I'm having some trouble getting the Listview.Items[0].Selected = true to populate the SelectedItems collection. The code that I'm using is: CtrlTransferSettings tester = CtrlTransferSettings() if (pos < tester.lstStrings.Items.Count) { tester.lstStrings.Focus(); tester.lstStrings.Items[0].Selected = true; tester.lstStrings.Select(); } What's happening is that the SelectedItems.Count is staying at 0, even after setting Items[0].Selected to true. While in debug mode, if I go look at the "Autos" listing and drill-down to the lstStrings.SelectedItems.Count property it updates itself and then lists the count as 1 and everything works correctly. But, it will only update if I drill down the 'autos list' in debug-mode. If I just run the code, the count always stays at 0. Is this a bug in the ListView control? Or am I missing a step?     - transparencykey + png's I'm writing a little calendar/to-do/etc application like rainlendar ( http://www.ipi.fi/~rainy/index.php?pn=projects&project=rainlendar ).     - Unable to start debugging with a user domain I was debugging on a local machine without problems. Now I put my machine in a domain and I can't debug anymore. If I try to debug a simple windows form application, I receive the following message Error while trying to run project: Unable to start debugging Access is denied.     - 2 comboboxes with the same datasource act as 1. Help I have 2 instances of a user control on a windows form. Each user control has a combobox. I have set the datasource for each combobox to the same collection of objects. I would expect these two comboboxes to act completely independently, but with the same selections available. What I am seeing, however, is that if I change the selected value of one combobox, that the selected value of the other combo box changes as well. Does anybody out there know what is going on?     - Winform app not opening from browser Hello, we are having a strange problem and thought I would see if anyone could provide some insight. We have a winform app deployed via the "No-Touch Deployment" model. The problem is that we have 1 user (so far) who is navigating to it from a web page (we actually do a window.open from the web page), and they just get a blank Internet Explorer page. Now, if you refresh the page, it actually seems to display the binary characters of the exe. It appears that IE is not handing off to IEExec.exe, because if the user actually runs IEExec.exe <URL to the exe>, the application starts up. I have no idea what to do in this situation except re-install either the Framework or Internet Explorer. Any ideas? I couldn't find anything on google.     - how to pass DataSet to modal form? Hi, My main form shows a datagrid with data and I want to open a modal dialog with bound controls on it when the user double-clicks a row. Both forms have an instance of my typed dataset and the controls on the dialog are bound to its dataset. I pass the row I want to the dialog and use DataSet.Merge to add the row to the dialog's DataSet. At this point the row is Unchanged, which is OK. As an example, let's assume a column holds the value "11". After typing "22" in the bound textbox, the value is "22", but the RowState is still Unchanged. It gets just a null value, but if I remove this row and insert new one (in DataGrid) then it starts to calculate rows correcly and gets the correct "ProductNro". It's not a problem if there is no rows already in DataTable but since you have to add new Products in old invoices then you get again the null problem. How this is possible that the first row gets null but rows after first one gets correct values? I have tested and found out that when first row is added DataTable seems to be empy (row.count) but it still shows correctly rows on my DataGrid.     - Datagrid Issues I'm currently trying to develop a solution containing a bound DataGrid that allows insert and update functions. I'm having 2 problems that i'd appreciate some help with. The first problem is where I have a primary key field that I don't want users to be able to modify. The obvious solution is to configure the column to be read only. However, then when a user tries to insert a record, that column is still read only and so nothing can be entered. The second problem i'm having is to do with validation. I have a RowChanging event on the underlying DataTable that validates the data and if there are any problems uses SetColumnError to flag the issue to the user. I also have a Validating event on the DataGrid that I use to confirm that there are no errors before a user can leave the grid. The problem is that the RowChanging and Validating events both fire at the same time. So that if a value is changed to an invalid value and then the grid is left, the value has not been flagged as an error when the Validating event runs.     - Scrolling in ContextMenu Hey all, I've got a problem with a slightly bigger contextmenu. Let's say I have 100 MenuItems then the context menu gets a little arrow on the very top and the very bottom. The one at the very bottom is black to suppose it is selectable, the one at the very top is grey (not selectable). By clicking on the bottom arrow I would expect I would scroll down my list of MenuItems. Instead the list of items is closed (quite slowly, looks somewhat strange). Shouldn't this work for itself? The aforementioned control "AxABC" is then subclassed as MyABCControl. The inheritance chain now goes like this: MyABCControl -> AxABC -> AxHost -> Control ...     - How to control the property Form.WindowState? I have created a form (e.g. frmList) which is called by selecting an option from main menu. And, frmList.WindowState = Maximized. And, there is a command button (e.g. btnNew) in frmList which will call another form (e.g. frmDataEntry), frmDataEntry.WindowState = Normal When i select the menu option, the frmList is show in maximized size, it is correct. WHen I have these two instances of same form open, it looks like all the events are shared between Form-A and Form-B. Eg., I have a button, which on click, changes the tab from Tab-1 to Tab-4.     - working with graphics I am creating an application that has some graphics and text displayed, and I am not sure the best approach is to handle my requirements. - There are 2 images that take up 40% of the form and are do not move or change. All the following items are displayed on top of these 2 images and are readonly. - There are 12 peices of text displayed at the same time in separate controls - Ideally, I just want to see the text and have the background transparent. The content of the text changes, but the position is static. - There are 24 status's that are displayed near the text information. The position of these status stay the same, but some are not displayed in certain circumstances. Ideally, I want each of the status to be a bar with the length equal to the value (ie. values of 1-36) - There is 1 dot that is displayed at any position over the images. Originally I tried this: - create 2 picturebox controls and display the images contained in a file - put 12 labels to hold the text and set the background color to transparent - put 24 lables to hold the 'status' items with a green background, and set the width equal to the value - didn't deal with the dot yet. My question(s) are: - considering performance and resources, is the picture box the right control for the static images? Or should I draw them using GDI+ (they are pretty simple images that I could create programaticly)? - The labels' transparent background picks up the color of the form, not the image. How can I make them pick up the color of the underlying image? - is the status lables the correct approach? - What control would be the best to use for the dot that moves around? TreeListView is not a windows forms class. You'll have to talk
to the person that developed it.
