    - clickonce applications on linux with mono project? Hi, I want to known if I can run clickonce applications on linux or Mac. Specially I want to run Report Builder.     - binding CheckBox.Enabled to ComboBox selection I have a combo which is bound to a List<MyCustomObject>. One of the properties of MyCustomObject is a boolean which I would like to bind to a checkbox so that depending on the selection on the combobox, the checkbox below it would get enabled/disabled accordingly. How can this be achieved through databinding? I don't want to implement this through any event handling - just pure databinding. For reasons too involved to go into, the grid is not editable.     - When is a form disposed? (unexpected ObjectDisposedException errors) I have a multithreaded app that creates a progress form on the main thread and interacts with it from a worker thread. I tried tracing through the framework with ILDASM to find the source of that exception, but with no luck.     - Draw over multiple controls When a user grabs the border of an object to expand the size or move it I would like to draw a rectangle to show the growing size or changing position. The problem is that the MouseDown eevnt is within the active control, while the line I need to be drawing is outside the control.     - NativeWindow.OnShutdown is causing a StackOverflowException Hello, I have a .NET class that creates a form and displays it using ShowDialog. This .NET class has a COM visible interface that is called by the main app which is C++ COM. The form displays correctly and everything seems to be fine, but when the main app is closed I always get a StackOverflowException from NativeWindow.OnShutdown. By the time the app is closed I would think that everything regarding the .NET form has been cleaned up as the form has been closed and all related objects are out of scope. Any ideas?     - Listbox captures focus This is very strange... I have a simple UserControl based on a System.Windows.Form. I have a databound listbox on the form, along with two radio buttons which aren't bound to anything. If I launch the form, everything is clickable. If I launch the form and navigate to any record in the listbox, I can no longer click any other control, except to close the form with the control box. None of the radio buttons are accessible. The visual feedback shows a click is occuring, but the click event doesn't fire, and despite autoCheck being enabled, the state doesn't toggle. However, when I click the restore box on the form's frame, it restores the window dimensions (physically) but my resize code is not executed.     - Deployment Problem I'm deploying a C# desktop application using a .Net deployment project. The application installs fine on my development PC, but it gives the following error when I attempt to install it on laptop that doesn't have the development tools: "The advertised application will not be installed because it might be unsafe.     - flicker in control I have made a custom control which displays a 3D object. The user can use the mouse to animate the object. However, I am getting bad flicker from the control. I call Invalidate in the mouse move handler to animate the object. I think the problem is the control repaints itself and then I draw over that myself, so it gets painted twice causing the flicker. In Win32 I would use a null brush or handle the WM_ERASEBKGND message to prevent this. Is there a flag I can set in the control to let it know I will do all the drawing?     - Problems using CellFormatting event in DataGridView I'm writing a Winforms program in VB/Dot Net 2.0. I have a datagridview with 3 unbound fields that are filled in by the CellFormatting event handler, based on lookups using values of 3 other fields in the datagrid. Actually nothing is specifically 'wrong' but I'm wondering if anyone could give me some suggestions to improve it. First of all, performance could be better although I suspect this is in part due to a rather slow network. Any alternatives to or tweaks on CellFormatting that I might be forgetting? The actual lookup code is fairly simple. Second, I wonder if I'm making assumptions based on the old grid. I would like to hide the columns holding the lookup keys but I find if I set Visible to False, the lookup fails. The best I can do is wipe out the header text and set the column width to 2.     - Help with form painting performance (and background images) Hello, I have a UI that I would like to build using .NET 2.0 Windows Forms. This application uses a fair number of background images & Iâ??ve found that UI performance is not very crisp, with visible repainting of the form when resizing & restore/minimize occurs. Iâ??m looking for suggestions on how to improve UI performance of the application (short of removing the background images, which does help a lot). The original application was built with a mix of .NET 2.0 Windows Form controls, DotNetMagic controls, and a few custom controls. Iâ??ve stripped out the DotNetMagic controls and the custom controls, and the performance is roughly the same. The application, which at this point is only a mockup, contains a few tabsets, some groupboxes, a number of panels, a split container, several buttons, several text boxes & quite a few combo boxes. Most of the container controls (the form itself, the various panels, the tab pages, the group boxes) have background images set, and many of the other controls that donâ??t have an explicit background image set have their BackColor property set to Transparent. At this point, what Iâ??ve tried in terms of improving performance is to ensure the BackgroundImageLayout property on all controls with a BackgroundImage set uses Stretch rather than Tile. Iâ??ve seen a few articles that suggest premultiplying images with transparency into a bitmap file should improve performance, so I tried that. For example, hereâ??s what I did for the form: public class RForm: Form { private Bitmap _renderBmp; public override Image BackgroundImage { set { Image baseImage = value; if (_renderBmp != null) _renderBmp.Dispose(); _renderBmp = new Bitmap(this.Width, this.Height, System.Drawing.Imaging.PixelFormat.Format32bppPArgb); Graphics g = Graphics.FromImage(_renderBmp); g.DrawImage(baseImage, 0, 0, Width, Height); g.Dispose(); } get { return _renderBmp; } } } I replaced System.Windows.Forms.Form with my RForm class in the form.designer file. I did the same thing for the GroupBox, Panel, & TabPage controls. I didnâ??t find any really noticeable performance improvement. Outside of the image multiplication trick above and avoiding a BackgroundImageLayout setting of Tile, thereâ??s nothing Iâ??ve done to the vanilla Win Form app. As this is a mockup, itâ??s very simple: there is no data access, nor data binding (thereâ??s no data), nor network latency issues (everything is local), the form is not set to localizable, it was built using the VS form designer, so SuspendLayout/ResumeLayout are called appropriately as the form is built. Can anyone suggest anything else I might try? Iâ??ve placed my sample VS 2005 project (does not include code that overrides BackgroundImage properties to premultiply image), along with all the images, at this URL - http://www.geocities.com/notre_poubelle/FullUITest_SlowChromeNoDotNetMagic.zip - for anyone who wants to try to speed up the performance. The slow performance can be particularly noted in two scenarios: 1. Start the app. Minimize the app & restore the app a few times. Watch the form, particularly the groups boxes (and to a lesser extent the tab pages). Please also take note of the buttons on the panel below the menu strip (the IE7 looking buttons) and the Tab control immediately below that. 2. Resize the width of the form (make it about Â½ the default size, then resize to full size; repeat); you will notice quite a bit of flicker near the vertical bar that separates the panels in the split container control (i.e. the white panel on the left and the large panel containing the â??Contact Formâ??). I would like to explore all options to improve performance (Iâ??m looking at simplifying the form as a last resort option). I would like to attain the performance of unmanged apps, if possible when restore/minimize occurs or the main app window is resized. Although Iâ??d like to improve the actual performance, if I can improve the perceived performance (e.g. by not drawing the form somehow until everything is done), I would interested in suggestions in that way as well.     - AutoScaleMode.Font crashes program Windows Forms, .net 2.0, vs2005, xp pro. Setting AutoScaleMode.Font (or Dpi) on my main form crashes my program on some computers. If I set it to None or Inherit program runs ok. It's a very simple form with a picturebox, combobox and a slider. .net 1.1 is not be installed on at least one of the problem computers.     - Weird problem with Outlook, WebBrowser control and Windows Server 2003 I have an applaction, that is an addin for Outlook. It opens a form with a WebBrowser control wich then shows a page from a Webserver. It works fine, but when I installed it on Windows Server 2003 the page didn't get shown in the WebBrowser control. I have another application wich uses the same form, but is a standalone Winform-Application. This works on both machines (my development PC with Vista and the Windows Server 2003. I've been using this method for years now - create a dataset (an .xsd file) for the table. With a column named "System" in the dataset, it gives a substantial number of compile errors. To simplify the problem, add a Dataset with one table and one column called "System" - below follows how it can be done: Right click on the solution, click "Add", click "New Item" and then "DataSet" and DataSet1 is OK for the name. On the design sheet of DataSet1.xsd, right click. click "Add" and click "DataTable". Right click on the DataTable and click "Add" and click "Column". Rename the column from "Column1" to "System". have lost all my Parteners old emailsand she was the main Account in OutLook
Exspress 6. I can find my emails just not sign of hers at all any where.
Please Help she is not best pleased. Im running XP home SP2.
