I've had a hard time getting handles to things that are in winforms, and
Spy++ doesn't play nice with winforms.

Hmmm... Spy++ has worked just fine for me whatever the underlying technology
is. What is your exact problem with Spy++?

I never had problems with Spy++ and Windows Forms applications.
