    - Deleting from a table via a dataset positioning problem I'm getting very confused trying to make my "Delete" button work. But when I click again on Delete, the msgbox now says "Delete record 0 (Deleted)?", and clicking Yes has no effect. Even worse, I've found that after getting to the last record with...     - Disabling maximise button affects maximised form size...? I've just noticed that if I set a form's window state to be maximized, and also disable the maximize button on the title bar, then the form will cover the task bar. If I enable the Maximize button, then the form does not cover the task bar. I assume this is 'by design'.... but I need a window that has no maximize button (so the user cannot 'de-maximize it) but also I don't want it to cover the task bar.     - Activate issue: not activated or active window on load I have a MDI application, but that isn't important, and why I posted it here instead of the MDI forum. I have class "App Loader" that contains Main. It loads a splash screen that shows up before the main window, and it runs on a background thread. It shows up while the app is loading. Once the app has loaded all the required resources, the main form is shown and activated. On Win 2003 and Win2K, the "app" flashes in the taskbar, but doesn't show up as the active window in the foreground. If you run it by clicking the EXE from within Windows Explorer, after it loads, Explorer is still the active window. I tried: //make this puppy come to front and activated Application.DoEvents(); this.TopMost = true; this.TopMost = false; this.BringToFront(); this.Activate(); This did improve the behaviour on XP, but not Win2K and Win2003.     - What's wrong with DataView I have such sentence in my program: {... ... DataView dataView = new DataView(dataSet.Tables[0]); Console.Writeline(dataView.Count.toString());} And this module runs very frequently. There are ten records in the Tables[0] .     - Debug makes Windows freezing? I used Visual Studio 2003/Windows XP SP1 to create a window application. At the form, I put a button and run debug. I put some break point on the Load event of form and it works fine. I also put a break point at click button event and click the button, but I never get the break point at the click button event. The Windows system seems freezing. I can not call other program. I can not use ALT-CTRL-DEL keys to restart the computer. But the Task Manager, which I started before debug, still displays the system parameters. The CPU usage is only 2 or 3 percent. The Mem Usage seems to be normal, too.     - XmlDataDocument.load second time Hi All, I have this xml file and loaded it by XmlDataDocument.load function. After XmlDataDocument.load function called, I need to load another xml file into XmlDataDocument again. I want to clear existing data in XmlDataDocument and I want to load new data into that XmlDataDocument . So I called XmlDataDocument.load second time. But it failed by giving some error message. And I was not able to modify the Dataset loaded in XmlDataDocument. Will somebody please recommand how to clear existing data and load again? Any suggestion is appreciated.     - Databinding Combobox to ArrayList (again: argh!) An ArrayList contains Person objects with Properties Name, Age, Phone. A Windows Form displays - TextBoxes for these properties as well as - a ComboBox for the Name and - VCR Buttons First/Previous/Next/Last. DataBinding should display the correct information in the textboxes no matter if navigation happens through the VCR buttons or the combobox. The combobox should always contain the same information as the txtName textbox. I tried several combinations of defining the databinding.     - Can't access digital camera to copy from in code I am trying to copy pictures from a digital camera in code. When I use the FolderBrowserDialog, it won't let me select the camera as the folder. I have gotten around this by using Shell32.BrowseForFolder. I am then also able to get the names of the files. However, the path is a pidl (i believe). So I am unable to utilize .Net IO classes to manipulate the files. This is windows form that ultimately will allow the user to browse for a camera, pick a client, then ftp pictures to the server for later processing.     - Datagrid exception I have a .NET windows forms application with one form displaying data. I have a tree view on the left side and the datagrid on the right side. Tree view allows the user to select verious items and based on that selection the datagrid is bound to the appropriate datasource and table from the database. This works well. The problem comes when I resize my form and the grid portion is not visible or just barely visible. Now when I perform the same operations by selecting various items in the tree I get an exception System.ArgumentException with Message : '0' is not a valid value for 'value'. 'value' should be between 'minimum' and 'maximum'. Source : System.Windows.Forms. This happens when I call SetDataBinding method. When I again resize the form so that the grid is more visible this problem goes away. I have also seen a bizzare display with red cross over the entire grid area when I resize the grid again.     - bound comboboxes I have three comboboxes on the form. When the record is displayed, all the three combo boxes are blank. If I select a value in the first combo box, and click save, the first value in the other combo box is displayed automatically. However, if I go to the next record and come back, those 2 combo boxes are correctly shown as blank. Is this a known issue? Any workarounds ?     - PropertyGrid - TypeConverter (DropDown) - Internet Explorer hosting problem Hi, I have created a Windows UserControl. This Control hosts a PropertyGrid and a Button control. The UserControl project also includes a class called "TestClass" and a custom TypeConvertor class called "DDConv". When the user clicks on the Button control, the application assigns an instance of "TestClass" to the PropertyGrid. The "TestClass" has a property called "CustProp" and it has an TypeConverter attribute assigned to the "CustProp" property. The TypeConvertor points to the "DDConv" class. The PropertyGrid in the UserControl displays a DropDown against the "CustProp" property when the UserControl is hosted in a windows application. When the UserControl is hosted in Internet Explorer, the PropertyGrid does NOT SHOW any DropDown for the "CustProp" property. NOTE: I test the UserControl in Internet Explorer from a virtual directory on my machine. I have set "FullTrust" for the "LocalIntranet_Zone" on my machine.     - Passing parameters to forms Hi all, I have a function that handles opening child forms in a MDIContainer, I want the child forms to accept a parameter to setup the form when opening. So I simply overloaded the constructor to accept the parameter...that easy enough, however the function that opens the form checks first to see if it's already open and if so just sets focus to that window. The problem is, if I work with the VS-Designer It puts all Code in one File. I also have to put some code there to prepare Data for Viewing.     - Calling parents functions Hi all, Is it possible to call a mdicontainer's function from a child window? Basically I have an function in the main MDIContainer form which opens child forms, it accepts an enumerator to know which form to open, also it checks to see if the form is already open so that it doesn't open it more than once.     - How to embed a form in a form? This is what I would like to do: - The splitter window splitting the view to a tree view on the left and entry dialog on the right. The tree view and splitter are easy and it's already done. - It is easy to make a fixed form on the right pane, dock it and enjoy it working. However, I would like the form on the right pane to be dynamic, i.e., depending on a context of the tree view to display different controls and being managed by a different form derived class. In MFC I could accomplish this with child dialogs embedded in a parent dialog and depending on the tree context flipping the child dialogs visible/invisible. I can do the same in .NET by using panels with embedded controls, however, this way everything must be done in the runtime and I lose advantage of designing a forms in a design time and taking advantage of .NET studio wizards.     - Editing a form in VisualStudio Using Visual C# .NET. I have successfully created my own Windows forms from scratch and been able to view and edit both the code and the designer (i.e. right click on the .cs file in the Solution Explorer pane and select View Code or View Designer.) I'm also modifying existing code, and have also successfully edited existing classes using View Code and View Designer. However, in one particular project there is a folder in which I cannot View Designer for the form class - the only option is View Code. Also, the icon shown is different from the usually forms classes - it's not the gray "control-looking" icon, but the green/white "text-looking" option. Both a .cs and a .resx file exist for form classes in question. This is code I got out of a library and my colleague is able to View Designer on these classes just fine. Any idea what's wrong?     - Need help in Data grid Hi I am developing a windows application. This contains a Data grid which will populate data from a data table in a Dataset. The application will do some calculation and store the result in the Data table. After the calculation, the result stored in the data table will display in the data grid. When number of rows need to populate in the data table after calculation is around 16000, application will take around 30 seconds to do the whole work. Because of this Data grid population from data table will also take 30 seconds or more. During these 30+ seconds, form will be blank and user cannot do any activity. I like to know, Is there any way to display the calculated rows part by part to the data grid from data table. (Like Buffer.Flush in Asp.net, to display part of the out put to the user). If I am able to display 1000 rows after calculation from data table to the data grid, the user no need to wait for whole calculation to be completed for the out put Give me some reply on this.     - SendKeys doesn't send I'm writing an app that sends keystrokes to another app using SendKeys.SendWait(). On some computers some of the time, the call to SendWait() doesn't work. After it's called, the receiving application is sitting there focused and ready to receive the keystrokes (if I press keys, they work) but the keys never come and the sending app blocks infinitely. Like I said it's only on some computers and even on those computers it's only every now and again.
