i am trying to add a user to a sharepoint site and i am receiveing the error
message below:
"None of the users or cross-site groups you entered could be added."
The user belongs to the same domain as the sharepoint server. I am using AD
authentication to grant access to users. I can add users from local OUs which
they are belong to local sites but i cannot add users from OUs belong to
remote sites.
for example i can add a user from the Chicago OU but not from London. They
are all part of the same domain though.

Any suggestions? Thank you

Are you using correct naming to add users?
For ex. london.remotesite.site.com\username instead of adding username directly.
As I know this problem happen because of mistakes in naming convention.

Yes, i add the user via email and not by domain\userid. still does not work
this way. I am using the right credentials though and in the right format
domain\userid
