I have a user that is getting WSS site confirmation/deletion emails for a
MySite on a portal that we no longer have. Our SPS installation used to live
on a different server. About a year ago (before I came onboard), they moved
it to a new server. The old server no longer exists. That old portal is still
listed in the SCA and I thought perhaps if I could delete it, the email
confirmations would stop. However, I've been unable to delete it because it's
virtual server is not extended on the new machine. However, I can't extend it
because it no longer exists. My main goal is to get these emails to stop, but
I'd also like to get the portals in the SCA cleaned up (as a secondary goal).
If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate them.
Thanks!

It's probably much better to ask this in the Portal Server newsgroup as the
problem clearly lies with the *Portal* sending out these e-mails and with My
Site - none of which are relevant in standalone WSS.

The Portal Server newsgroup is

microsoft.public.sharepoint.portalserver

or try the new newsgroup for admin issues (for all SP products and versions)
at

microsoft.public.sharepoint.setup_and_administration

specifying SPS 2003 in the subject line.
