Iâ??m a newbie with Sharepoint and I have to make a page with 30 different
documents. All of these documents MUST be on the same page and all 30 need
to have different security settings. Is there a more efficient way to do
this other than just creating 30 document lists to contain each document??
Like I said... I'm a newbie

Please in future postings say which SharePoint product you are using (there
are four) rather than "SharePoint". With people occasionally posting to the
wrong newsgroup we can't make any assumptions based on the newsgroup you
posted to.

If all your 30 documents need to have different security settings (to all
the others) and you only have WSS available then you can either create a new
site or a new sub-site or a new document library for each one. So yes a new
doc lib.

The we have the single page. Fairly pointless because everyone would see all
the 30 doc libs but would be only able to open the ones they had permissions
for. Also this would need a lot of monitor space.

In fact the concept all round seems odd to me but I suppose you have a good
reason.

I suppose one document library but different access rights per document
(using Rights Management Services) wouldn't be possible for you? That would
be a much cleaner solution.
