Can you run through how you added/linked the pdf gif?
I adapted the steps in the MS Support article 555209
Steps 1-4 are already covered by installing Ifilter60 and adding the
filetype to search as per this Blog entry
http://geekswithblogs.net/sspotts/archive/2006/11/03/96045.aspx.
5. Copied file from
http://www.ceinet.org/back_office/images/icons/pdf16.gif
to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions
\12\TEMPLATE\IMAGES
and made a second copy called ICPDF.GIF (as needed by DOCICON.XML
file)
6. Edited C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server
extensions\12\TEMPLATE\XML\DOCICON.XML
Added a line for pdf referring to icpdf.gif
7. Restarted every Sharepoint service.
Still the PDF doc appears with a default icon and opens in a text
view.
Hope someone can help clarify whether this should work.
Thanks!
