For what this is worth. I got this same error when creating a SharePoint
dashboard for CRM. It would work as a standalone page accessed via IE but
would randomly give me the same error you got when viewed through the
Outlook CRM client, but not the CRM web client.
I finally figured out how to prevent it. It would happen when my VPC
network was set to Local Only but when I actually had it see a network card
(either my wired or wireless card) it worked. Something funky about
SharePoint needing to see a network card I guess.
Maybe this might help you troubleshoot a bit.
