I have a custom list (call it List1) with three fields (title, author,
isbn_no)

I have another list (call it list2) in which I'm trying to add a lookup
column to get the isbn_no from my first list (above). When I go to modify
columns and settings on List 2, add a column, type lookup, choose from my
List1 list, the "in this column" field, the only choice that shows up is ID
and Title. none of the other fields become choices.

i've noticed that if i choose any of the custom lists i've built that it
only shows the ID and the first field, never any of the additoinal fields.
However, if I choose any default list from the portal site (contacts,
events, tasks, etc.), all the fields come up as choices for the "in this
column" dropdown.

i'm wondering what i'm doing wrong to not get my columns as choices for
lookup fields.
