I need to create a document library that will contain text only files (and
no, the developers aren't going to use Word) which are small snippets of SQL
code. I would like to have a way to check in/out the document into notepad
or isqlw. I would like to maintain versioning, and have the document opened
from within WSS.

Any ideas ?

thanks in advance.

Any document library can have versions enabled, and any file can be checked
in and checked out using the web interface.

Thanks Dustin, but I think the biggest problem I'm having is how to make the
client side editor (notepad, isqlw etc) the default for when a document is
checked out, or created new.

Thanks Bill,
I downloaded the app but haven't had a chance to look into it yet. Does
this require being run or installed on each client pc ?
