I have a user that has full rights to a document library, but when he
attempts to upload multiple documents, the "Upload multiple
documents..." link does not appear on his upload document screen. Any
ideas?

The "Upload multiple documents..." feature uses an ActiveX control that comes
with Office 2003. Therefore, it won't appear on computers where Office 2003
is absent.

Hi Larry,

"it won't appear on computers where Office 2003 is absent"
Yes! And if you install Office 2003, you still need to check whether you
have installed the Sharepoint support items from the installation wizard:
1. select "choose advanced customization of applications"
2. Then in the tree view list, select "Microsoft Office->Office
Tools->Windows Sharepoint Service Support"

Please feel free to let me know if you have any question.

(possibly adding to the information given by both Jim and Wei-Dong)

I'm in two minds as to whether this feature is only in the Pro version of
Office 2003 (as is the "Edit in Document View" function) or not.

I.e. if you have Office 2003 Standard and it still isn't visible, that would
be the reason.

If however you have Office 2003 Standard and it does work, please let me
know as it would mean that my intro to item IV.16 How do I remove "Upload
Multiple Documents" in the WSS FAQ is wrong.
