Hi,

Currently running a wss2 standalone server (w2k3 sp2, sql2005). When i
try to do an inplace upgrade to wss3 (keeping the existing sql 2005
installation), the process seems to work fine, but i'm left with a new
content database, instead of my old content database. I just have a
new team site, instead of all my existing sites. Anyone have any
advice on how to get the upgrade to work properly?

One other piece of info, when I get to the server type screen in the
upgrade wizard, it only lets me select Web Front End.

I wish you could edit a post...lol. I tried the upgrade again last
night and here's some additional observation. The upgrade is
definitely installing another set of content/config databases into an
embedded sql instance (which is also being installed during the
upgrade process). Is it simply a matter that i need to "disconnect"
the new embedded sql instance and then reconnect my old content/config
db's? Dont these need to be "upgraded" at some point also?
