WSS Sites - User E-mail Addresses from AD Groups

I was wondering how people handle adding of e-mail addresses for users who
are part of an AD Security Group which is assigned to a WSS site. For
example, Site 1 allows everyone in AD Group 1 into the site as a reader.
The users come in and they get added to the site user listing but their
e-mail address is blank.

How are people getting the e-mail addresses to be updated? I saw the
following post but I am curious if there are other solutions.

There is a tool included in the Sharepoint Utility Suite v 2.5 that may
help
The WSSUserUtil will allow you to update user Display Names and
email addresses for all the site collections for that domain with the values
from an XML or pull the values from Active Directory.
