Hi Mark,
I understand your suggestion. If and when I make the migration I shall
consider your advice.
Can you please tell me how the recovery of individual files works in
SharePoint. This is really easy with filesystem backups, but it seems that
with sharepoint I have to restore the entire content database just to
recover one file. That is crazy! There are many advantages, like giving
users the ability to set security when sharing documents and many many other
things. But if you can't recover a file in a timely fashion I don't see how
it can be a workable solution.
At present we have 22GB of data stored in shared folders and homefolders.
To restore even half of that to recover one file isn't practical and I can't
believe there is no other way. Please can you confirm whether there is a
way to recover individual files easily, especially corrupted files (I know
there is a a Deleted Items "function" built into SharePoint).
TIA,
Jarryd
