Your question below didn't say Windows 2003 *Web Edition* but as that was in
your subject line I presume that's the version of Win 2003 Server you are
asking about.
The answer is No. You also can't run WMSDE on Web Edition. You can only run
the front-end of WSS (no database system) on Web Edition and must therefore
have a second server with the database system. That second server (Win 2K or
2003) can also not use WMSDE but must use SQL Server 2K with the normal MSDE
2.0 a question mark.
It's anyway cheaper to run one Win 2003 Server (Standard edition) and WMSDE
than two servers one of which is Web Edition ...
