I am currently running Windows 2003 Standard running a Web Site
(default site) on one IP and a SharePoint site(s) on another IP
utilizing the desktop version of SQL. The two sites have been running
for almost a year now without any problems.

I am in the process of evaluating upgrading our existing Access
Database to SQL Server 2005 my concern (and is probably a newbie
concern) is will installing SQL Server 2005 overwrite or damage the
existing SharePoint SQL instance?

Are there any good documents to outline any special steps to install
SQL Server 2005 while having a SharePoint site operating.
