Hi,

Terribly sorry for accidentally sending the previous
email just now.

Anyway, I am not sure should I post this question here.
I have installed WSS v2 with MSDE on a server. And I have
installed the SQL 2000 Standard Edition, and choose
upgrade databse. But the problem is, I want to use SQL
Server Agent to schedule some job, but I am having
difficulty in starting up the agent.

Does anyone experience this before? Any solution or
this is the WSS issues?

Thank you very much.

Best Regards,
HS

Have you upgraded the installed copy of WMSDE that came with WSS with SQL
Server 2K *on the same server* ?

I am unsure what you mean by

Hi,

Yes. When I installed the SQL Server 2k, I have chosen
to upgrade the existing Sharepoint Database.

Thanks.

So for the benefit of those people who are also SQL Server experts.

You installed WSS using the default MSDE. You then upgraded WMSDE in the
server to SQL Server 2K. (presumably SP 3a?)

Your site is working fine with this copy of SQL Server 2K and now your
question is how to use the SQL Server Agent.

---------------------

My first thought would be that this ought to be a standard function of SQL
Server 2K and in need look at the SQL Server On-line Books (for information)
which are a free download. [Or post to a SQL Server newsgroup]

Or are you saying you know all about SQL Server Agents but can't get it to
work (only) with WSS and so you think this is a WSS problem ?
