I re-created my web application and site collection. I associated the
content database for the new web app with the search server. After doing
so, when i search for a known term in one of the sites, it does not return
any results. What do I need to do to make syre content is being indexed
prperly so it is searchable. Being able to search sites is critical for us

Thanks,

jeff

Jeff,
i spent sometime trying to figure out how search works in this version. you
may have already done this but if not, please try this.
- create a simple doc (word or text) with a file name "Test Me.doc"
- upload this doc to a document library
- re-index the search database
- search for "test" or "me" and you should get one result

btw, i assume your search service is all running fine.

Without sounding too dumb, how would I re-index the search database? I
uploaded some docs to a doc library and when I search I still get:

No results matching your search were found.
1.. Check your spelling. Are the words in your query
spelled correctly?
2.. Try using synonyms. Maybe what you're looking for
uses slightly different words.
3.. Make your search more general. Try more general
terms in place of specific ones.
4.. Try your search in a different scope. Different
scopes can have different results.

I must be missing the re-index. . . .?
