I have a few thousand images saved in 6 picture libraries. Each
library has several top level folders, each having sub-folders that run
1, 2 and 3 directory levels deep. Is there a way for a View to pull
and display images from a librarys entire directory and sub directory
structure?

Hi,
If you add the image list web part to a page and then edit the web part
properties you will see a Folder option at the end of the page. You can set
the option to "Show all documents without folders".

If you want to search on an image property then you can add the form web
part to the page and connect it to the view. If you want to use thumb nails
in the view then you might want to convert the list view to a Data View.

OK! Well you just blew my mind. I'll give it a try. Thank you.

BTW, what is the link you included for. Do the images in the
imagepreview.aspx have any relevance to my specific question, or are
they just random images in an example of what the appearance and
function may look like?

image list web part ; eah, and where might one find that web part? It
doesn't seem to part of my WSS web part offerings.

It's certainly listed if you have a web site based on the standard template.

But if you have a web site based on a Meeting workspace or Document
workspace template some things may be missing.

Try therefore (if you haven't already done so) creating a site base on the
"Team Site" standard template and look there.

Engelbert

(It's in the Team Web Site Gallery and it is called "Image Web Part" there.)

Your right, but because I don't see the option Ian mentioned I created
a new WEB Part Page, added the Image web Part, open the properties and
look for a Folder option at the end of the page; but no option like
that is offered. I must be in the wrong place or using the wrong web
part. Here are the options I have.

<Image Web Part
Image Link

Image Vertical Alignment
Image Horizontal Alignment
Web Part Background Color
+ Appearance
+ Layout
+ Advanced

So I must be on the wrong planet or completely blind.

Hi,
Don't use the Image Web part, instead, add the web part that matched the
name of your image library, then in the web part properties, click on "Edit
view" just under the drop down to select a view. You will then see the
option I'm talking about at the bottom of the page (all going well).
