Just noticed this difference between SPTS and WSS.
From a document library in SPTS, you had the option to download the document
locally. In WSS I can't figure out how to do that. When I click on Name
(linked to edit) or add the column Name (not linked to edit) the results are
still the same; WSS wants to open the document from the server. This is ok
for standard file types but for other more arcane file types this can be a
problem.
What am I missing?

Never mind! Figured it out. For anyone else who is looking for an answer to
this question, you must use the "Name" (For use in forms) item. This at
least worked for me. This item when clicked gives the user the opportunity
to download locally.
