Has anyone seen this error before? I'm using IE 6, and
sharepoint works fine on all my systems, except for one
laptop. The problem is that it displays the RTF menubar,
but you do not see any textbox to enter data.

Is it an IE settings that prevents it? How can I fix this?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Do you have office 2003 installed on the laptop. I have a vague feeling you
might need that for rich text box.

I'm not sure what the problem is, but I know you don't need Office 2003 to
use the RTF fields. I'm using them with Office XP.

Have you tried adding a second one to the list? I'm curious if it is all
the RTF Fields or just the one in particular you are having trouble with.

Good Luck,
-Ryan

I've just seen a blog elsewhere that may have the answer to this question.

The essence is that you should check the browser of that one laptop. No
input fields will be visible if Active Scripting is disabled.

Let us know please, CB, if this is what it was.

Unfortunatly, that was not my case. I checked the settings
again, but Active Scripting is Enabled. When I hit any of
the menu icons, I get a javascrip error "body is null". I
suspect however that this is just because since the
javascript was not able to generate the clientside
textbox, it cannot find the textbox's body.
