When people try to add documents to any WSS document library from outside
our LAN using the external access address http://FQDN/document library,
etc.., the document is never added but I receive an error in the Application
log on the server. Source: SQLFTHNDLR, Event ID: 2001, Description: One or
more documents stored in image columns with extension '' did not get
full-text indexed because loading the filter failed with error '0x1'.

It doesn't matter what type of document they're trying to upload. I can
upload a document from within the LAN however. I've tried everything from
recreating the IIS virtual websites and re-extending them to installing
SharePoint on 2 clean boxes and restoring by either using the built in
backup/restore utility or simply restoring from the SharePoint admin pages.

There is one KB artilce on this that doesn't apply. It is this:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;888839

I'm using the same versions. SQL 2000 SP3a and WSS SP1

Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated.

Hi,

As I know on this issue, we can try to register one mssearch dll (
offfilt.dll) to resolve this issue. I list the steps below for you:
1. type "cmd"(without quotation mark ) from start -> run
2. browse down to C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Mssearch\Bin via the
command "cd"
3. for registering the offfilt.dll file, we should first un-register the
dll:
regsvr32 offfilt.dll /u
4. then re-registered via running:
regsvr32 offfilt.dll
to re-register.

With that done, it should repopulate the Full-Text Indexes and searching
resumed as expected so that your external customer should upload the
document into the doclib.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any question.

Thanks for replying. I unregistered and then registered the dll but I still
have the same problem. I think this may be related to SSL on the IIS virtual
server becuase if I try while logged in using basic authentiation without
SSL, it works constently.

Using larry@datasculpting.com will be an invitation to all spam senders.

Isn't it possible to specify one real address for managed groups but give a

I was told by Mae at MSDN (see the text of the email below) to use
sizzlemaster@newsgroup.nospam to get managed support. I used
larry@datasculpting.com for over a year and never received manged support.

Hello,

I want to apologize for the confusion the content on web news site may cause.

I have verified that the no-spam alias
"SizzleMaster@discussions.microsoft.com " is not a valid MSDN no-spam email
alias. The "Use a false address we generate for you" choice you selected
creates an email alias for non-MSDN subscribers.

Please re-configure your profile or newsgroup client to use the account
â??sizzlemaster@newsgroup.nospam â??and then repost the message and we will be
more than happy to respond to your question.

To configure the profile, please visit:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/subscriptions/managednewsgroups/default.aspx#webbased

Step by Step instructions is located at:

Please let me know if you have additional questions or concerns.

After nearly 20 hours on the phone with SPS, IIS, and ISA support, we finally
determined that the document you're referring to encompasses my problem as
well and that the fix will be available in service packe 2. I'm moving to
SSL-SSL briding as we speak.

Thanks Wei-Dong!
