Hello all,

I was wondering if there is a way to create a personal (private) theme using
WSS?

Our custom theme that is across our deployment apperently is causing
problems for one person. We recently hired a temp that is red/green color
blind and has requested that the site she is a member of be changed to a
different color. We want to be sensitive to her needs, but we also do not
have the luxury of controlling the styles directly and are forced into
consistency.

Please advise, and thank you in advance!

The standard answer no doubt applies that if someone can access a site /
sub-site or document library, they see the same as everyone else that can
access that site / sub-site or doc lib.

If you can't change links; heading etc. depending on who is accessing ti,
you're not going to be able to change the theme either.

Makes sense to me... I suppose I was hoping that there would be a way to
manipulate things, similar to the Modify My Page feature that allows
personal views and web parts to be stored and maintained.

Thanks Mike for your help!

Perhaps you should anyway investigate the Personal View option for this one
user (if they are important enough).

They'll need sufficient rights to be able to create a Personal View and
you'll probably have then to do it for them.

The main question would then be how much amendments can you make in the
Personal View interface to colours rather than information.

My experience of slotting in new web parts or new views to web parts and new
images (not of dogs - think John Denver's Toledo) isn't of any help in
knowing whether colour changes are possible,

[Wild idea: a web part created from an existing web part using FP Data View
where the output texts are coloured to suit the user - they then use that
web part in their Personal View to *read* the data rather than the standard
one with colours they can't read.]

But all the above is just me throwing out ideas for you to think about -
nothing concrete.
