Hi,

Working with the beta of WSS 3.0 and wanted to test creating some Office =
Web Part Pivot Charts and Pivot Tables.

But I don't see those web parts listed. I have Office 2007 installed on =
the test machine.

Is there a seperate download?

Is this functionality even available?

Microsoft have stated that there will be no Office Web Parts and Components
for v3.

See

http://www.asaris.de/sites/walsh/Lists/WSSv3%20FAQ/DispForm.aspx?ID=797

Officially the v2 ones can't be used with v3 but look here

http://www.asaris.de/sites/walsh/Lists/WSSv3%20FAQ/DispForm.aspx?ID=798

for a way round found by MVP Shane Young.

So I read a lot of the blog entries. How shortsighted can Microsoft be on
this. Their answer seems to just be "what is the problem just use Excel
Server"... Which is fine and dandy if you can afford to implement MOSS.

We have a lot of clients using WSS v2 and the Office Web Parts to view data
in dashboard formats.

Suggestions as to what we should be looking at as a replacement for those
clients who want to implement Office 2007 and WSS v3. For many clients
going with an unsupported solution (i.e., Office 2007, WSS v3 and Office
2003 Web Parts) is not an option.

Read the last paragraph again in my response. I appologize for not putting
in a question mark.

For clients who want to move to WSS v3.0 and can't afford MOSS and Excel
Server and are also going to implement Office 2007 should do do in order to
gain similar functionality to what they have today, all within a software
developer supported envrionent. Does anyone have any suggestions?
