Hi !

I am a developer using Visual Studio .NET 2003. I need to build an
extranet, with basic functionality of a file archive and download
facitlites of files etc. The company policy is to use Sharepoint to
build this. Can I do this using Sharepoint Windows Services? Or do I
need Sharepoint Portal Server ?
Do I still develop through Visual Studio .NET 2003?

Any help will be appreciated
Regards
Damian

Damian,

I believe WSS will give you the functionality mentioned in your post, "out
of the box". You can even make use of Version History for files. If you
specified more closely the features you're trying to utilize, we'd be able to
give you a more solid yeah or neah answer. In the mean time play around with
WSS Document Libraries and see how close that gets you to where you wish to
be.

I hope this is helpful.

Thanks
C
