When I add a multiple line column to a list, I can edit the number of lines
for editing, but I don't see a way to make the resulting text box wider. Is
there a way to increase the width of the text box, or better yet to make it
size to the width of the browser?

Hi Ben,

From your description, you're wondering how to adjust the width of the
multi-line editor of SPS(for multi-line list column), correct?

Regarding on this issue, I've performed some research, it seem this editor
has fixed width and the current SPS(or MOSS) doesn't provide a public
configuration setting for us to adjust it. Actually, such UI element's
formatting is controlled by those central CSS style for the SPS site.
Though it is not documented, but you can try viewing the source of the SPS
page and lookup the Editor's css attributes. You may change some of the
common css settings, here is a web article which may give you some hints:

As this is the newsgroup for WSS 2.0 and WSS 3.0 installations, I don't
understand how you can draw the conclusion that he must have SPS or MOSS ...
