Hello,

we moved a site using Microsoft Sharepoint Services to an new server
(backup&restore) a few months ago. This worked very well and the
systems runs fine without any problems but one.

The notification-emails still point to the old server, so they contain
dead links only. I did not find any setting to change this, so I post
here.

Where/how do I change the baselink for the notificationemails from
sharepoint?

Thank you!

Uwe

You do this in the central admin site.

Configure service and configure outgoing email!

Thank you for your answer.

The page outgoing email is configured well, I can configure the SMTP-
server outgoing email address and address to answer to and encoding.
No other serveraddress is setup.
What I noticed is, that the service for outgoing emails seems to be
running on the smtpserver itself (this is not the server the wrong
link points to), but I did not find anything there. Perhaps I have to
move this service to the server sharepoint is running on?

You need to install the SMTP Service.

Configure outgoing e-mail settings (Windows SharePoint Services):

Hi,

I updated the configuration. The outgoing emails are sent by the
sharepoint-server itself now.
But the problem still remains. All links in the emails point to the
servername of the former sharepoint-server.

This must be set somewhere?!

Thank you!
