Hi,

We had a simple installation of SPS on a single SPS server, let's call
it SPS1. Users created recurring Meeting Workspaces on this server.

A new server farm was configured and SPS1 became the job/index server.
2 new load balanced web servers were commisioned given the name SPS.

SPS1 no longer is a webserver as well (as this configuration is not
supported) and users had to change bookmarks and shortcuts to access
the portal and sites, etc. via http://SPS instead of http://SPS1.

This is all sorted and working well, except for the previously created
Meeting Workspaces. The meeting workspace still exists (on SPS), but
the hyperlinks in Outlook (both in the body and in the panel) still
point to SPS1!

Without losing the content of the existing Meeting workspaces, how can
I get these meetings to point to the new server?

I know this error took place on an SharePoint Portal Server, but since
Meeting Workspaces are part of WSS, I was hoping for some help on the
matter here...Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Glenn

Is there any difference between this message and the very similar question
posted yesterday to the SPS newsgroup ?

Given that this is an SPS question and especially as it is about a farm
configuration with job/index servers on your "SPS1", that seems to be the
correct place for it.

Hi Engelbert,

If you had read my last paragraph, it may have been clearer why I
posted to this group too...but let me perhaps rephrase the question so
that it's clearer and hopefully someone can point me in the right
direction without getting bogged down in the SPS vs WSS nonsense.

I've got users that created a Meeting Workspace from Outlook on a
server, let's call it WSS1 and lets call the meeting workspace
WSS1\Meeting. I then for whatever reason move the server and rename it
to WSS.

I can access the Meeting Workspace at the new address WSS\Meeting and
no errors about the meeting no longer being linked to Outlook.
("This meeting date is no longer associated with a meeting in your
calendar and scheduling program. Either this meeting date was canceled,
or the link to the workspace was removed from the scheduled meeting. ")

My question is this:

Is there a way to change the hyperlink (or whatever other form of
linking Outlook maintains) to the meeting site without unlinking the
site or losing data.
If not, is there any advice to recover my users as gracefully as
possible from this situation?

Your help would be greatly appreciated as I've spent a lot of time
searching for any clues and so far have come up empty.

Thanks,
Glenn
