Hi,
The subject line says it all... I need to move a sharepoint server from
a win2k-sharepoint2k to a new server that runs win2k3-sharepoint 2k3. The
best part is that the server need to keep the same same as it replace the
old one.

Any doc or procedure that can help me out on this one?

Thanks!

We need more. Neither of the present SharePoint products runs on W2K.

There were two back products that ran on W2K - which one do you have.

(and if it's SPS 2001 please note that SPS newsgroup is at
microsoft.public.sharepoint.portalserver

which also reminds me that we also need to know which of the 2 current
products you intend to move too.

Hey I was browsing through because i'm ina sort of similar situation but i
need to move from a w2k to another w2k with sharepoint installed on only the
first. Is there any way to move everything (incl. sharepoint)? I'm having a
lot of problems in locating a version that will run on w2k.

There's another thread about this. If it's from you as I suspect just stick
to that thread.

The WSS equivalent (but early version) that runs on Win 2K is SharePoint
Team Services (STS). To get it you need to *buy* a copy of Office XP with
FrontPage 2002 or a copy of FrontPage 2002.

I woul however not recommend installing STS at this late stage. There is no
support and it is much more restrictive than WSS. Instead upgrade your
server to Win 2003 and use WSS.
