List available to public

I have a list on an intranet sharepoint site that I would like to make
public. Basically, sharepoint users log in and update the list. Public
users go to a different url and one of the pages includes the data pulled
from the sharepoint site.

Is this possible?

You can add a DataView web part to the public site and populate it from the
internal site. Use FrontPage to do this.

I created a public sharepiont site, open it in front page, and when I add the
private site to the data source catalog, it doesn't show my lists. Only
Database connections (0), XML Files (0), etc....

Do you know why I can't add this data source?
When I edit the private site with frontpage, I can add other sub sites as
data sources to it.

It may be due to a permission issue. The members of the public site, need to
have at least Read permissions to the private site.
