Hi all,

Is it possible to use Sharepoint to publish documents in an existing folder
on a separate server? I.e: publish My Documents on 'my site'? Or common
documents from a file server?

How would I do this? Do I need 3'rd party products?

Cheers,
Johan

You cannot do this with the free product, WSS. The for cost product, SPS
will crawl file systems.

Hi,
You can publish documents from a network share inside a WSS web part.
Just add the Page Viewer web part to a page and set the View type to a
folder and enter the UNC path for the network share.
Note: the clients must have access to the share as it is really a client
side activex control hosted in IE that is rendering the files.

Here is an example that shows your c: drive in a web part (if you add this
url to your Trusted Sites Zone)
