Next week I will be installing WSS in our new servers. I have three days to
install WSS and create our Intranet site. This is being used for our new De
Novo Bank starting up. I'm trying to get a feel for how long you think it
should take to set up WSS to be able to use like the free trial that one can
sign up for. I have used that and set up all of the web parts, but i have not
had a chane to do a practice install, and will not have that time. Anyone
have any ideas? (Will it take minutes, hours, or a couple of days?)
Thanks for any input or experience.
BTW, I have "Sharepoint 2003 Advanced Concepts", O'Reilly "Essential
Sharepoint", MS Quicksource for Windows Sharepoint Services and "Microsoft
Sharepoint 2003" for reference books.

You can get it done in a day. If you are not installing and configuring the
Operating System, it should take you a couple hours assuming you are only
installing WSS (not Sharepoint Portal Server).

you really should attempt an install so you are familiar with it. Maybe you
can use virtualPC to test it.

You should have at least one install under your belt before putting up a
corporate intranet.
