http://www.commodore.ca/misc/misc/wss/windows_sharepoint_services.htm

is an article called "Microsoft Windows 2003 Server Windows SharePoint
Services Explained"

Newsgroup users may want to read this if only for laughs (starting at that
title of course)

Here's a sample

"Windows SharePoint Team Services (often referred to by MS staff as WSS 1.0
or STS) was a product that MS made available in 2002 and early 2003. It was
unstable, very limited in functionality and (I think) highly unpopular.
WSS1.0 has become MS Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003."

The last sentence is complete nonsense of course.

I have never heard anyone refer to STS as WSS 1.0; it was made available in
2001; it was not unstable (I've had a production site running for 21 months
and it has never crashed); not *very* limited (although of course WSS has
more functionality); and it wasn't highly unpopular just highly unknown.
[Was it ever called "*Windows* Sharepoint Team Services"?]

I'll leave it to you all (the masochists among you) to find all the other
errors that are no doubt there. (I gave up after the above para)

Check out this statement made in the closing paragraph...

"The bottom line is that you currently have only three decent resources for
WSS: the Admin Guide; the Security video; and this page."

The author has clearly missed the phenomenal wss.collutions.com :-)

I never got that far. It seems to me that this page (on a site otherwise
dedicated to (ancient) commodore computers) is there only to attract Google
hits in the hope that people will click on his internal links for which
Google will give him money.

The relevance to Commodore escapes me. I wonder how many other such pages -
for other products - are hidden on that site.

Just a FYI, I have some time and I am making comments to all the
obviously ignorant statements on that webpage. I will send out my
comments soon. Sure to get another laugh! :)
By the way, Mike, I haven't forgotten about sending you the reasons
behind why we chose to move to another SQL server for our WSS sites
(and why we chose our method). I will get those to you soon.
