I'm using WSS 2003.
I need to manage the item-level security into a document library.
This isn't possible in WSS, but I must allow an user to load an his document
in a document library and this document couldn't be used to other users.

Does exists documentation about the item-level security logic?
Any suggests to start to implement this particular document library?

Many thanks

One of your options is to look into Microsoft Windows Rights Management
Service (RMS) technology in Microsoft Windows Server 2003. Incorporate this
in tandem with WSS to achieve your desired result.

You can find more information about this functionality from:
http://www.microsoft.com/office/editions/prodinfo/technologies/irm.mspx

Thanks for you suggest.
But I won't to use a further technology to solve the issue.
Moreover this technology requires another license server.

Best regards

Another possibility is to move to WSS v3 that should be coming out later
this year. WSS v3 does provide item level security.
