After the critical updates from MS were installed this month I can no longer
successfully click on DESIGN THIS PAGE in a SharePoint site. It takes an
error on mshtml.dll which was updated.

After removing update KB918899 and rebooting the problem is gone. There are
a number of updates under KB918899 and removing them all may not be required.

If anyone has additional information please post it here.

Hi Shawn,

Hey Shawn - seem to have the same problem.

Any further info on which updates need / don't need to be removed?

Cheers

Thanks, Shawn. I started experiencing this issue too and after removing
the security update, the problem is gone.

I've been told that MS confirmed the problem and will be releasing an
update/fix towards the end of August.

A hotfix is now available through Microsoft Product Support (and given
it is a product issue it should be deemed free, but don't quote me).

KB article 926996, Fix numbers 187899 and 187898 for server and client.

I have been told the release via Windows Update will occur as part of a
cumulative update in October.
