Hello All,

I recently moved two WSS sites to a new domain, new database, and new
WSS server in a front and backend configuration. I exported and then
imported the config db and both content databases using the SQL
Enterprise console , built a new Windows Sharepoint Services server,
and then pointed the new WSS at the databases. One database came up
with out issue, all I had to do is re-add the new domain accounts. The
other however, will not allow me to connect at all and returns a "Can
not upgrade the database". Also if I create a new database for this
other site and then try to import the old data into it, it breaks the
site.

Please let me know if any of you have run into this issue.

Much thanks,

Ed

You're going to have another issue if you're re-creating domain accounts.
New SIDs for everyone. Site collection owners don't get checked for their
SID, but everyone else does. Check out my blog post here for help: http://www.sharepointblogs.com/dustin/archive/2004/09/10/756.aspx

To the other error, can you run this:

stsadm.exe -o upgrade -forceupgrade

Let us know how (if) this helps...
