Document Libraries

Is there any way or application that integrates with Windows Services to
allow for setting of permissions at the folder or document level in the
document libraries?

Debbie,

Out of the box, SharePoint does not allow you to set security at the
document or folder level. If you use Digital Rights Management server, you
have all sorts of control over your content. Alternatively, I've seen some
product (not free I'm afraid) out there that can do the same thing, but I'm
at a loss for finding a link to such products at the moment.

I believe that v3 will have more granular security than the current version,
but that's tied to Longhorn.
