The short and to the point is I want to change a few things: default file
size and where the files are kept. I dont mind the format, I would just like
to take advantage of a larger partition.

Your subject line says SharePoint but you'll need to explain what default
file sizes have to do with SharePoint.

Where the files are kept - if you mean the ones on the C: drive - you can't
change either. They must be on the C: drive (or to be exact on the boot
drive).

says:
Performance and Usability

To maintain optimum server performance and ease navigation of the document
libraries and folder structures, use the following guidelines as the upper
limits when organizing your files:
1,000 files in a folder
1,000 folders per document library
1,000 document libraries per site
50 megabytes (MB) per file

Sorry in my peculiar version of English that's 'number of files' not 'file
sizes'.

There's nothing wrong as such with these figures but I personally find that
anything more than 400-500 documents in a document library and the document
library is just harder to use. That's however nothing to do with limits just
a practical value after which I'd seriously think about adding a new
document library and splitting the documents between them.
