I have a Windows Server 2003 SP1 IIS 6.0 with WSS installed.
I have three Sharepoint sites on that server
http://servername/sites/site1
http://servername/sites/site2
http://servername/sites/site3

These sites do not appear in IIS. If I go to the Sharepoint administration
page --> virtual server list --> extend/upgrade virtual server nothing is
listed.

How do I correct this without having to tear everything down and reinstall
WSS?

Thanks

These sites are not meant to appear in IIS. You should see one site in IIS
which is your http://servername site, which it looks like in your case is
your Portal site. Site 1 - 3 are contained underneath this Portal site but
this structure is not represented in IIS. This is by design, instead the
structure is contained within the SharePoint tables within the databases
within SQL.

So you aren't meant to see this in IIS because of the way SharePoint is
designed.

Hi,
Can you still browse the sites from IE?
If so, you have nothing to worry about as the sites live in the SQL DB, not
in IIS managed file system.
The only thing you will see in IIS is the web.config and a few directories
for the top level site but none for any sub sites.

Relax,
