When I log into Sharepoint (WSS 3.0) I set the Default.aspx page that comes
up as IE7's Home page. I close the IE 7, restart it. IE 7 tries to go to

go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=74005

instead of the Sharepoint home page I set. Any idea why this is happeneing?

TIA,

Barkingdog

I forgot to mention that the "new account" is a member of the Sharepoint Team
Site Owners group.

You could try to add the Url to the list of local intranet zone.

It's a cure for a lot of SP ailments, but this problem seems to me to be
a purely IE7 one and nothing to do with WSS 3.0 at all.

All that seems to be happening is that IE7 isn't accepting a different
home page.

The reason for that seems to be a temporary one. The link that
BarkingDog is getting is "Thanks for choosing Internet Explorer 7" and
seems likely to be something you get only once.
