Everytime I try to test the URL for either the sites link,
or the Public Documents, it fails, and when I try to save
my configuration I get this message:

"The specified Web server is not extended with Windows
Sharepoint Services or it is not accessible via http(s)
protocols."

Any ideas on how to fix this problem? Also, when I look at
my virtual server settings, it doesn't have my port number
behind the server name, as the default web site. But I
think it needs it, so do I have to extend the virtual
server, and if so, how?

Thanks

Can you give us some indication of your environment starting with SPS 2003
or WSS and going on from there.

are you even using https for instance ? does your WSS site work otherwise
(apart from the sites link or "Public Documents" - what is "Public
Documents" by the way?, that's not a WSS term that I know.) ?

Hi,

Could you please provide us with more detailed problem description? For
example:

1. Do you use SPS or WSS?
2. What does the "Public documents" mean?
3. Where do you save configuration?
4. Attach a screenshot for the error message.
5. How do you go to the Virtual server setting?

Thanks for your time.

Sincerely,

Arnold Gao
