    - Vb Programming Code Hi, I am a newbie and a serious VB learner of VB6.0. From my first lesson(Calculation program), I have created small program(calculation program). I made 3 text box(data1, data2, Ans) and 5 command button(add, div, mult, sub, exit). Everything is working fine(all the calculations). Now I need to add one more command button(Cont) and text box(Result) to get a different results - like, data to be calculated continously(like in a calculator)(that means - data1 and Ans to be calculated in Result. Whenever I type in data1 it should be added to the total value displayed in the result box. Can I do that?     - Terminate Event is not triggered on application close Folks, In my application, i'm using a global collection object which is used across some of the controls. I can use these controls in standalone as well as it can run with some other applications. On closing the application(any of the controls), the terminate event of the object is not triggered. Since i'm using this object somewhere in the other controls also. I had explicitly returned a routine to release the instance. It works well enough, but what I would really like to do is create it as an executable that would run on my web page. My ISP is using Linux as the hosting platform with FrontPage extensions enabled. I can have up to five Apache databases with this hosting package.     - ADO Recordset - Best Practice Hi All, Just wanted to gauge some thoughts of other professionals.... I have a fairly big VB6 project using an Access Database and the way I have set it up is that I have the following components: - A standard project (for forms) - An ActiveX DLL for all my database work When ever I want to retreive some data from the database I call a function from the ActiveX DLL which makes a connection to the database and passes an ADO recordset back to the form (another Recordset). But now I an upgrading the Access database to SQL Server/MSDE and I now have the facility of Stored Procedures, so my question is... Is there a significant overhead in using the ActiveX DLL to call a stored procedure and then pass the results back via a recordset, when all I need to do is call the stored procedure from the VB Form it'self. After all the SQL (in the stored procedure) is the thing that is common to multiple forms. It is easier, in a way, to keep the database work in a seperate ActiveX DLL as the connection routine only has to be written once. If I just connect to the dababase straight from the Form I need to re-write my connection routine in every project that uses the database. NB.     - Motion Sensing using VB I have made a small application in VB which detects motion captured by a webcam. The app. just two consecutive images and XORs the pixel colours and then accordingly detects the region of maximum movement...The rest is fine...Now there is one problem. I am gettin the coordinates of the point of maximum movement (which a traced by a small circle on the picture box). I am trying to store it into an array after every frame change. Now I want a small function which could help we tell if the point has moved left, right, up or down. In the sense, that I should be able to determine the direction of movement of say my hand with respect to say the starting point. Here is the problem. I ain't good at maths and have not been able to determine correctly when the person moves his hand say in front of the camera. I'm trying to save a highlighted string of text from any application window without affecting the main clipboard (so users don't lose their clipboard data).
