I have a Dell Optiplex GX240 (Pentium 4, 2 GHz) at work running Windows XP Prof SP1, and Office XP. When I develop macros and subroutines in Visual Basic for Excel of for Word, the wheel on my wheelmouse (Logitech optical) does not scroll in either the code window (top right) or the immediate window (bottom right). It does, however, scroll in the project window (top left) and in the properties window (bottom left). For all other Windows applications, the wheel scrolls just fine. The VB version in both Excel and Word is 6.3 (Excel 2002 SP2, and Word 2002 SP2)
I have tried a Microsoft wheelmouse with the latest drivers and get the same result. Interestingly, I have done a check on other computers at our location and some scroll ok and some do not. All are Dell's with the generic Dell wheelmouse (made by MS), and all run XP Prof SP1, with Office XP
Any ideas on this inconsistent behavior?
