    - Template Member Function Parameters I have some code from an open source project I'm trying to port to VC6 SP5 I'm having trouble passing a parameter to a template member function. I'm not new to templates, but this one goes a bit deeper then I've ever delved. I have a c++ program that need to access a function inside an xll, it produce an error "xlcall32.dll not found" when I call LoadLibrary().     - can't see debug information after program crash on XP I'm running my code in VC++ 6.0 on WinXP under debug mode. Every time it meets memory error, e.g. access violation, a messagebox popup, then I choose "debug", another messagebox popup saying some address can't be read. After click on the "ok" button, every active window will be shut down and I can't see which line of code cause the problem. While the first call succeeds, the second one fails somewhere deep into fgets. I can only imagine that this is cause by some corruption due to bad calling conventions, but am at lost as to how to correct/manage it.     - Keyboard input Hi, I have a program which controls the mouse and keyboard by installing system hooks. Both are controlled via pre-recorded data and call SendInput based on this data. The data consists of nothing more than what key was pressed, where the mouse moved, etc. What I'm looking for is a way to disable the user from physically pressing any keyboard button except escape. I found BlockInput in MSDN, which would be very useful, except it disables all physical input. Is there a way to detect if the user physically pushed a button on the keyboard, rather than sending SendInput messages, or WM_KEYDOWN? Thanks for any suggestions!     - Is it possible to make a MFC dialog In-Proc when called from and ATL COM from VB? Hi, I have an ATL COM object that contains a MFC Dialog. One method of my ATL must allow me to display the dialog in modal (DoModal). I use this ATL COM in my VB app. I want to call the ATL Method from my VB app to make the MFC dialog appear in modal. The problem is : The dialog appears, but is not in-proc. So I receive a message each time I click on the parent window (not a beep sound, but really a message). Is it possible at all to make my dialog appear in-proc or it is a limitation of the COM (or VB) usage? Someone talked to me about In-Proc server, but I really don't understand this concept. I don't understand why calling 2 methods make my dialog out-of-proc. Can someone explain it to me plz? Thanks ThunderMusic P.S.     - LNK2005: function already defined My workspace consists of two projects, one Win32 application project and one static library project. The code is in fact in C language instead of C++. Some of the funcitons declared and defined in the file that contains WinMain() is in conflict with other functions of the same name in the library project.     - Newbie question: Calling VB function from a C DLL w/out crashing VB I have been scratching my head for several hours now trying (yet again - gave up the first time) to successfully call a Visual Basic function from a C DLL, place a watch on a string passed ByVal, and exit the function ALL without crashing VB. As long as I don't actually look at the contents of the passed string, it works great! Soon as I look at it, though, VB up and dies _after_ exiting the VB function. Does anyone know how to do this? I've tried it using character pointer, BSTRs, user-defined data types, and nothing works. I've tried allocating memory for the BSTRs using SysAllocString and not freeing the memory using FreeSysString (and flip-side calling FreeSysString) and nothing works.     - problem with spin control Hello! I am trying to display both an edit and a spin control inside a toolbar. so i added both of them, and set the edit to be a buddy for the spin. When the toolbar is displayed, they seem pretty happy together, but as soon as I click inside the edit, spin disappears and you have to redraw the whole toolbar for it to come back. When you drag the spin conrol to a dialog resource, it works fine, but here I am trying to do the same thing programmatically. Perhaps, I am missing some steps... But, until now, I was able to add up to 3 nodes then it crashed. If I add a 4th node(1 root, the 3 leaves), it crashes. When I add 3 nodes in one branch (1 root, 1 branch, 1 leaf = the root has one child, and this child has 1 child too), it crashes too. I would need to send the code so you can see what is the problem, but the groups does not accept binaries. So if someone want to help, I can send them the code by e-mail. I really needs it. I am currently working on a VB project and find myself needing to do what I am calling interface substitution. Specially, I am wondering if it's possible, in COM, to temporarily substitute a particular interface on an object with the same interface of a different object. I would like to replace the ICollection interface on one of my objects with a "visitor's" ICollection interface and then replace the original interface after I have done some operations on the ICollection. We used precompiled headers before and didn't have these problems, until recently we introduced boost. I wander if it has something to do with using templates in precompiled headers...     - newbie question on derived classes OK how do I do this - what I want to do is create an OCX ActiveX control, and take advantage of the 'number of controls' box, I want two controls in one OCX. However I want to have one generic class, derived from COleControl, and then two more control classes derived from this class, because both of my controls are going to have some functions that are generic but some specific to each one.     - calling 'virtual void's in constructors I have a group of 4 classes in my VC++ application, these comprise a superclass (call it SC) which contains three virtual void operations and three subclasses (C1,C2,C3) that inherit from it and implement the virtal voids (as of course they must). Class C1 does not have a constructor, it just uses that of its superclass SC, but the constructor of SC calls one of the virtual void operations (called it op1) which is implemented in C1. It all compiles clean without even a warning, but it crashes at run time in the constructor. The code in outline is like this: class SC { public: SC() { ... /* bits of init'n that work fine*/ op1(); // <-- crash at this call } virtual void op1()=0; }; class C1 :public SC { void op1(); }; Simple question.     - newbie q - resize w/less control Curious problem... I am getting a strange problem with a control I am trying to write using MFC which has windowless activation, in order to be transparent. The problem is, when used from Visual Basic, if I resize it in design mode (wider but shorter, or narrower but longer) then it redraws OK. However, if I resize it wider and longer, i.e. bigger in both x and y directions, it doesn't erase the pixels on the screen from where it was before! So it looks as it I have two of the controls, one before it was resized and one after it was resized. This doesn't happen if I make it smaller in one direction and larger in the other direction. I tried putting a message handler in to trap the WM_SIZE message, but this doesn't seem to be firing when I resize it. Anybody know how to resolve this? After edited some source files(.cpp or .h) in VC++ 6.0
IDE, I wanted to save it. However, sometimes there popped
up a message box and told " Cannot save file. The file may
be in use another application". Much worse, I might lose
this file when I open project next time. And it also
inexplicably disappeared from my folder.
