    - How to get code page from current language input method? Hi there, In my application, I need to get the code page for current IME device. For example, if user selected Chinese in language bar, and keyed in Chinese characters, I need to get code page 936 so I could translate the got key code, which is in unicode. into double byte character set. And if user uses Polish input method, my application should get 1250 as the code page. I am using _getmbcp() to get code page for current locale, but not accurate if the locale is English, but user is inputting other languages. Any idea how to get the code page?     - __forceinline and SSE bug in VS2005? At the bottom of this message is an example of what I believe is a bug in the behavior of __forceinline when used with SSE intrinsics in Visual Studio 2005. The summary is it seems that when __forceinline is used on functions that contain SSE intrinsics, the functions are not inlined after a very small depth (something under 10 levels of functions). If __forceinline is replaced with __inline, the functions are all inlined. From what I've read, there is no way __forceinline should cause less inlining than __inline, but that's the behavior I'm seeing. Also, if the SSE intrinsics are replaced with regular C, the problem goes away as well. I know the functions don't get inlined by warning 4714 which gets raised on level 4 (not level 1 as MSDN seems to suggest), and by examining the assembly which clearly shows function calls. In the code below, the template parameter to the inlinetest function determines how many levels of function calls there are before the call to vset, which contains the SSE intrinsics. On my system, only very small numbers (around 5) will successfully be inlined - there's some ambiguity because the exact value has changed a few times and I'm not sure why. Replacing __forceinline with __inline or changing vset to not use intrinsics successfully inlines for much larger numbers (I've tested with 100). If anyone has any input on this problem - something I'm doing wrong or ways to proceed, I'd appreciate it very much.     - typeid comparision does not work inside macro I have two functions return a type_info. I used them to see if a class is of a specifed type. const type_info& MyOtherClass::desc() {return typeid( MyOtherClass() );}; and /*static*/const type_info& MyOtherClass::isA() const {return typeid(*this);} If i put them in the code straight up it works. I find that a class is of the same knd as itself. But if i put them in a macro the two return different typeIds for the same class. it worked perfect in VS.net (2002). What im i missing??     - Loading mulitple versions of a DLL Hi all I have a dll, the source code of which is in C++. I want to be able to load two versions of the dll at the same time. The second version of the dll has some changes to the C++ code. I know that Windows does not allow loading mulitple versions of dlls with the same name, so is there a work around? I know that the 'hacky' way to get around this is to change the name of the dll. But I do not want to do this. I was thinking of using assemblies, but I am not sure how to create one.     - Its been a long time! Hello to all! I don't know if any of you guys remember me, I sure remember some of you. And you were great help on the questions that I posted on this newsgroup a year and a half ago. I was the fellow reading the petzold book and testing its programs in VC++! I got to the point where I was coding, classes, structures, objects and using API functions within VC++ (Fun stuff!). Bummer I had to put all that aside to carry on with electronics and processors which I programmed in C since this was a priority to my project. As you may guess, after a year and a half without touching VC++ I am quite rusty but would probably take me a a month or two of review and I would probably be up to par from where I left off. I have posted this question about two years ago, and since technology evolves every day, I figure I would ask it again in this post. At this point should I continue with VC++ (this would mean reviewing all that I had leanrt plus learning new stuff like STL and the rest of the 800 pages in Petzold's book) or jump straight into .NET? It is a just a simple mfc dialog app, which changes the cursor image using cur file.     - Capturing stdout from a started process... Hello, My setup is as follows: WinXP Pro, VS2005 Pro. I would like to start a process from within my C/C++ application, then capture that process's stdout into a file. I've been able to do it completely successfully using the library system function, that is: system("MyProcess.exe > someFile") However, my process opens up a command window when it runs, which is really distracting if I'm doing something else at the time. Instead, I simply want the process to run "unnoticed" but still be able to capture its output. I originally tried this in C#, which does provide facilities for doing exactly what I want along with MSDN example code to do it. The only problem is that either .NET is buggy in this regard, the sample code is flakey, or I am simply too dumb to use it. In any case, while it does work most of the time, it often misses the last line output by the process, even though I do wait for the process to end. So, I decided to go back to the old reliable of C/C++ to see if I could do it. Any ideas?     - Recieveing Bulk of Messages of small size using Sockets Hi, I have a client server MFC Socket based application. I am hooking the mouse and sending the event messages to the client. On client im simply displaying the events (real intension is to inject the events using sendInput()). The problem is that on client if i write the messages on file I can see all the messages in order there. but if I try to print (or inject using sendInput()) them I dont get all the messages. also if I write them in file and print them, then again I dont get all the messages in file. One more intrusting thing is that when I use telnet instead it displays all the messages. I have tried using win32 APIs using SOCKET as well instead of using CSocket. but the result is the same. I need to recieve messages without missing any of them. Kindly suggest me what to do. Hi ,
I am trying to add my application in the windows firewall
exception list using vc++.I am using iNetFwMgr object to add
application in exceptionlist with coCreateInstance functions.

This works fine on windows XP and windows vista but when i am
running my application on windows server 2003 enterprise edition. it
is not adding my application in firewall exception list.

Can anybody help me for that?what could be the problem?
