Look in main(). - If I declare "Customers People[49]" in main() then I'll get an exception error while running. Note that the file (CustomerFile.txt) has indeed 49 lines of customer data. No problem there. - But if I declare Poeple[50] in main() then everything works fine except for the fact that index-50-variables return rubbish. Offcourse it does, no problem there either. - But if I declare People[49] globally, then everything works just fine. What is going on here? As far as I know the code presented above shoudl work nicely. Nevermind my skills in file I/O. Just learning. Unless it is related to the exception error.     - How to recycle codes for ActiveX project? I need to develope a different version of ActiveX which shares 90% codes with an ActiveX project I completed a while ago so I would like to recycle as much source codes as possible. My old ActiveX project was started on VC++'s ActiveWizard. I thought I could simply create a new project so that I have an unique UUIDs, then copy the .odl file to the old project, and modify some names in .cpp files. It is in a project that I've created using ATL COM AppWizard, with MFC support. So it's using ATL *and* MFC.     - Unable to uninstall VC++ 1.52 I mistakenly installed VC++ 1.52 on Windows 2000 advanced server where I have already installed .NET 1.1. Now I am unable to uninstall VC++ 1.52. The program does not show up in the 'Add/Remove programs' list of Control Panel and there is no uninstall directory in the program' directory of the VC++ 1.52. I ran visual studio 6.0 setup program and clicked on 'Remove All'. The program ran without error but Visual C++ 1.52 is still there. I then re-ran the setup program for visual studio 6.0 to install the VC++ 6.0. The program ran again without any errors. But on the programs menu I see only one VC++ item and when I click on this item I see only VC++ 1.52. Could someone please help me in uninstalling VC++ 1.52. I localize the resources into separated resources-only DLL because of the difficulty to deal with the language resources load order. The problem is that I must ensure a backward compatibility with the old clients EXE. Indeed these assume to the DLL find out itself its resources; i.e a default behaviour. I code this like (from my extension dll): AFX_EXTENSION_MODULE extDLL; DllMain(...) { .... AfxInitExtensionModule(extDLL); extDLL.hResource = AfxLoadLibrary( default resource); new CDynLinkLibrary(extDLL); .... } Now for the new clients, I want to supply an exported function InitMyDLLResources() where I would to replace the default loaded library with a new convenient one. It will be 'cleaner' if I can avoid sending/receiving file size and exit the while() loop by detecting EOF, or other ways to check the complete of receive.     - IInternetProtocol Start Method not working correctly Hello, I've been searching and searching and found nothing to help me out. Here's my situation: I need to capture URL Requests (clicks or address bar entries) and if it matches a specific URL like "http://somedomain.com/blorg.exe" I want to be able to intercept that and tell IE i'll take care of it myself, OR, if it does not pass my criteria, let IE handle the click. I DO NOT want to register my own protocol like mark://somedomain.com/.... I need to be able to look at the whole URL This is what I've done so far: I have created a namespacehandler in the HKCR area so my DLL gets called for any URL's requested in IE. My DLL gets called and the start() gets called, but if I don't want the URL, I'm returning INET_E_USE_DEFAULT_PROTOCOLHANDLER. This causes IE to crash.     - File transfer question again ... Hi, I am implementing client/server programms using winsock to do file transfer. Now I have 'put' and 'get' functions. I have GetFile() and PutFile() functions, GetFile() will get file data from socket and write to destination fiile; PutFile() will read source file data and use winsock TransmitFile() call to write to socket. Now I am testing the client/server with a setup.bmp file with two PCs, pc1 and pc2, both running on w2k. I switch the pcs to be client/server. When client 'put' a file, it sends 'put' command to server (which triggers server to call GetFile()), and then call PutFile(). When Client 'get' a file, it sends 'get' command to server (which triggers server to call PutFile ()), and then call GetFile(). The problem is that the 'put' function works, but 'get' not. Here works means 1) the setup.bmp file can be viewd (or opened) using MS Paint; 2) pc1 and pc2 both work when switched as client/server; not working means when I try to open the transferred file, I got the MS Paint error "There is not enough memory or resources to complete the operation. Choose some programs, and try again". The transferred file size is correct (no error during transfering for either 'put' or 'get'), and 'get' calls the same functions (GetFile() and PutFile()) as 'put' does. I don't have time to port these 1000s of lines of code. These files are actually being called from an C++/MFC application (which I can build and run) but I don't need ANY of the UI that is calling this C code It's sort of strange how this project is set up, but in this MFC app, there is a CPP file with two lines in it, and include of stdafx.h and a include of the above mentioned .C file.
