    - Importing a DLL: calling function error. I'm importing a DLL and when I call its function "vDecode" I get an error message (see below). I think that the reason is that the function prototype I have is wrong (the DLL documentation -below- could be wrong, old, obsolete). BUT maybe I'm not importing the DLL right (I have not much experience importing DLLs) I reproduce the code below (simplified). Am I forgetting to do something to make this function work?     - Lap timer sounds... Hi, I have a small program that I have that detects a slot car passing over a photocell that I read through the printer port. I want to play a sound every time a car passes over a cell, so I need the sounds to play fast and also interrupt each other when the cars pass very close to each other. From what I understand, I need to have the sound coming from memory and not reading in a wave file. From what I see, DirectSound or SndPlaySound are my options. Is this true? If so which is the easiest to use and best for my application? Any source code available? These are small wave files, car 'drive by' sound effects.     - USB Safe Removal Hello all, I have developed a simple application which loads and accesses a mass-storage device in 2k/XP. Now, I would like to transfer that code over to a service. Everything seems to have transferred well except for the safe removal code. It seems the call to CM_Request_Device_Eject() was failing due to the lack of interactive logon. After some research, I found a suggestion to use CM_Query_And_Remove_SubTree() because it does not do the interactive logon check. After trying this, I now get code 0x34 (CR_CALL_NOT_IMPLEMENTED?) returned from CM_Query_And_Remove_SubTree(). Any ideas of what I can do here? The workspace says there's supposed to be a myproject.rc2 file, but I didn't get one with the package. What is contained in an rc.2 file, and can I generate a new one?     - dependency issue, build instead of rebuild We have several projects where we #include "resource.h" in stdafx.h (I know, bad practice, but let's ignore that for now). For some reason when we make a change to resource.h and build the project, the compiler doesn't realise it needs to rebuild stdafx.cpp. It thinks everything is up to date. But when it compiles the .cpp file that uses the new ID we just defined, say, it gives an error that the ID is not defined, because it hasn't compiled the new resource.h. So any time we change resource.h, we have to Rebuild All instead of just Build. Any idea why that would be? Look in main(). - If I declare "Customers People[49]" in main() then I'll get an exception error while running. Note that the file (CustomerFile.txt) has indeed 49 lines of customer data. No problem there. - But if I declare Poeple[50] in main() then everything works fine except for the fact that index-50-variables return rubbish. Offcourse it does, no problem there either. - But if I declare People[49] globally, then everything works just fine. What is going on here?     - How to recycle codes for ActiveX project? I need to develope a different version of ActiveX which shares 90% codes with an ActiveX project I completed a while ago so I would like to recycle as much source codes as possible. My old ActiveX project was started on VC++'s ActiveWizard. I thought I could simply create a new project so that I have an unique UUIDs, then copy the .odl file to the old project, and modify some names in .cpp files.     - Inheriting from a DLL Greetings, I'm using VC 5 SP3 and I'm attempting to inherit a class from a DLL and call it's member function from an application (which links to the DLL).     - Unable to uninstall VC++ 1.52 I mistakenly installed VC++ 1.52 on Windows 2000 advanced server where I have already installed .NET 1.1. Now I am unable to uninstall VC++ 1.52. The program does not show up in the 'Add/Remove programs' list of Control Panel and there is no uninstall directory in the program' directory of the VC++ 1.52. I ran visual studio 6.0 setup program and clicked on 'Remove All'. The program ran without error but Visual C++ 1.52 is still there. I then re-ran the setup program for visual studio 6.0 to install the VC++ 6.0. The program ran again without any errors. But on the programs menu I see only one VC++ item and when I click on this item I see only VC++ 1.52. Could someone please help me in uninstalling VC++ 1.52. I have a bit of code that simply takes in a date from an EditCtrl and
uses COleDateTime, ParseDateTime to get the date

m_Ectrl.GetWindowText(str);

The problem is a client in Korea is using my application and it is
failing to parse the date that he enters.

He enters the date like

17 [korean character for Decmeber] 2003

In english we would enter

17 December 2003.

Note: Clients in France, Spain etc have had no problems with this.

Is there any issues I should be aware of when dealing with languages
like Korean?

I have searched on Google and MSDN and come up with nothing so far so
I am hoping someone on here can help.
