    - How to read data from MS Access? I have a vbs file that uses a Do loop to read through hundreds of rows in a csv file. There are 6 columns in each row and the values are assigned like this: arrUserInfo = split(objTextFile.ReadLine,",") strFirst = arrUserInfo(0) strSecond = arrUserInfo(1) strThird = arrUserInfo(2) strFourth = arrUserInfo(3) strFifth = arrUserInfo(4) strSixth = arrUserInfo(5) This works fine but I would rather have my vbs file read the data from the original source, which is a table in MS Access.     - Logon Script copy files Hi, I used to use .bat files for my logon scripts to map network drives and perform a couple of other functions. Now I am using VBS logon scripts, but since my scripting experience is minimal, I cannot perform the other functions. Could someone please provide me with the VBS equivalent to these batch file commands: :COPY if not exist c:\folder\file.exe goto :END (Program does not exist on their system, they do not need the replacement file) xcopy \\server\folder\file.exe c:\folder\ /o /y (Copies file to computer overwriting existing file) :END Thanks in advance.     - Script to restart process... I am very new to VBS, but thought I could create a simple script that would be scheduled to run a couple times a day to make an archive of my webcam video. I created the script, but it doesn't work sometimes. Here is what it does: Stop program (dorgem.exe), move webcam video to Archive folder, start program (dorgem.exe). It works great, except sometimes dorgem does not close. If I use the / F option with taskkill the program does not start up properly the next time. I think the solution would be to have the script verify that the process "dorgem.exe" halted and then continue with the file move, and if the program did not halt try again 60 seconds later (It seems to work after the 2nd or 3rd time if I do this manually from the command line). Can anybody give me some clues on how to do this? I cant seem to find the answer online. Here is my script... 'This script closes dorgem, moves a file, then opens dorgem. Please can someone point me in the right direction I am hoping to use a script that will connect to each pc listed in a txt file and write to another txt file the pc's that were unreachable, before copying a shortcut on the users desktop to the PC's that are reachable. This is crucial as I need to log the pc's that were not reached so that I can push to them later. I have placed the shortcut copying part in a subroutine and it has tested fine. Can someone advise me on the best way to test the connection for error handling? In particular what would be best practice to connect to the PC's in the ***MAKE CONNECTION*** section??? Our site has 65000+ A type records so dumping the lot into a collection takes some time so I use a LIKE statement, see code below. The problem is that my query returns nothing.     - Vista Special Folders When I attempt to backup folders in Vista, I get the "permission denied" error below when I try to access a user's special folders like "Desktop" and "Start Menu".     - Classes and Arrays - Novice question I'm a novice programmer who is new to the concept of Classes in VBScript, and I'm hitting a dead-end trying to implement a function in my application. Below is a very detailed description (bear with me!) of my app and the issues I'm running into. My app collects player data from a computer game server (COD4 Modern Warfare is the game), stores the raw data in a mySQL database, and then calculates and presents player stats via .asp pages using VBScript. So first I came up with a data structure to store the stats as I do all my calculations. For each player, I calculate about 30 different stats, e.g. total number of deaths, total number of kills, kill ratio (kills/deaths), time played, kills/hr, number of kills using a pistol, number of kills using a rifle, etc. The tricky part is that for each statistic, I also need to calculate and store the "rank" of that player for that statistic (e.g. player1 ranks # 2 in the number of kills, #3 in kill ratio, etc.). I want to call this function for every stat I am storing in the player object, so after I calculate a particular stat (like killcount) for all the players, I can call the function to rank that stat for all players, then move on to the next stat. Here's the problem - I can't figure out how to pass the data to the function call and specify which stat I am trying to rank. Conceptually I want to call the function for a particular stat object in the Players object - Rankstat(Players.KillCountStat). But of course this syntax doesn't work - since Players is an array of objects, I can only reference specific elements in the array like Players(1).KillCountStat. And if I pass the entire Players array into the function, I cannot think of a way to specify which stats object that I want to rank; because every stats object within the Player object is uniquely named (killCountStat, killRatioStat, etc.), I can't figure out how to "generically" refer to them inside the function so that I can have a single function that can rank any stat. I hope this makes sense. I'm really stuck here. Maybe my data structure is poorly suited to the task? One solution I thought of was: rather than make the Players object an array, make each stat object an array within the Players object (e.g. Players.PlayerID(1) = 12345; Players.killCountStat (1) = 99). Then for example I could pass the whole killCountStat array into the RankStat function. But I can't figure out how to declare an array of class objects within another class object! Referring to my code snippet above where I define my classes, where/how would I specify that the killCountStat and killRatioStat objects are an *array* of New StatisticClass? It seems each element of the array would have to be individually set as a New StatisticClass, but I don't understand how to to do that within a class definition; it seems like it would have to be done as each element is added to the array?
