Steven

If lets say there is a folder in wwwroot named "XYZ" with some files and
permissions associated with that folder. I want to duplicate this particular
folder as in create a copy of XYZ with all the files in it and also the
associated permissions.

I really hope I can get a solution if not the script ... a link where I can
find the necessay instructions to create one.

Thanks a lot
Arvind

If your using Windows 2000, you already have a solution in the 2K resource
kit in the form of Robocopy

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=323275

There's an example batch file at;

http://www.michna.com/kb/wxsync.htm

If you don't have 2K or don't have the 2K res kit, I'll be happy to zip up a
copy of robocopy for you ;o)

Alternatively, try XXCopy (extended XCopy)

http://www.xxcopy.com

Steven,

I am really thankful for your replies.
I am using windows 2003 server.
Can the file be modified as needed to work on 2K3?

Thanks
Arvind

If you mean robocopy, it is also included in the 2K3 res kit apparently ;o)

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9d467a69-57ff-4ae7-
96ee-b18c4790cffd&displaylang=en

The batch file should work in the same manner (don't have 2K3 so am unsure
as to whether it works the same as the 2K one or not unfortunately).
